Biography
Growing up singing along to my favorite Disney princesses, I always wanted to tell stories through my work. This passion followed me during all my classical piano studies and is even more crucial now that I create audio environments.
During my bachelor's degree and my specialized graduate diploma in music composition for film and video games at the University of Sherbrooke, Canada, I worked with extraordinary people who improved my knowledge and experience as a composer. Therefore, I had the opportunity to participate in diverse projects, such as an original soundtrack for a full-length film, multiple video game projects, two student short films, and the recording of one of my video game music by a live orchestra. Among these collaborations are Robert Marcel Lepage, Benoît Groulx, Maxime Goulet, and the Sherbrooke Symphony Orchestra.
My undergraduate piano studies with Suzanne Goyette at the Conservatoire de musique de Montreal allowed me to play in small and big ensembles, accompany singers, and even sing in a choir for multiple years. That explains why I love orchestral and vocal music but, most of all, collaborating with people.
Through my years of composition studies, I discovered a new passion while working on multiple video game projects: sound design. Armed with my Zoom H4n Pro Audio Recorder, I started recording all kinds of sounds, ranging from footsteps to my dog barking to even the flushing sound of a toilet. It amazed me how I could record a simple sound and transform it into something completely different in my DAW. The possibilities are endless, and that's what I love the most about it. Though most of my sound design and sound implementation abilities are self-taught, I owe a lot to my university teachers Thierry Gauthier and Maxime Goulet for helping me better my craft and become more efficient in my workflow.
Taking people on a journey with my music and sounds is the best part of what I do. It fills my life with joy, and I couldn't be an audio artist without it.
